I called ahead to see if we needed reservations. They said no just come on in. There was a choice to be seated with adults only or family seating. We chose family because all of the adult seating was high tops with no backs on the chairs. We were seat right away. Our drink orders were taken delivery quickly. There were four of us and we each ordered something different. I had the full rack of baby back ribs. They were very good with a lot of meat on them. Tender with great flavor. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. We will return.
i had a pulled pork sandwich with fries, my brother and nephew had the ribeye, and sister-in-law had boasted chicken. All of the food was tasty. The server was busy, so service was a little slow, but in all acceptable. It's a family cowboy slash restaurant bar. The TV's were playing Fox News and Newsmax(?), no volume.
We stopped on a busy Sunday morning. The service was amazing and I was impressed by the teamwork. If you needed more coffee, whoever walked by next filled your cup or bussed the dishes or got what you needed. We had the chicken fried steak and eggs and the gravy was very tasty. It was a little noisy on the family side but that was to be expected as every table was filled.
The Grub-Stake is close to our house and is our go to local super close hangout. Good selection of beer and alcohol in general; cold beer and good prices. What we really like is that there is a family side that welcomes kids and a 21+ side without. We always sit on the 21+ side at the bar which is spacious. Good menu for food however a little limited some days because lack of help. Overall, cool spot for a cold beer and to hang out after work.
